Ljones, 10 October 2024: BioFish has received renewed certifications according to the GLOBALG.A.P., which affirm that its smolt facility in Ljones meets internationally recognised best practices.
BioFish has been GLOBALG.A.P. certified since 2016, and as previous years, the certification also include the GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice.
The GLOBALG.A.P. certification is based on the Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) for aquaculture, which is a global standard for responsible farming practices across all stages of primary production. IFA takes a holistic approach that covers key topics such as food safety, the environment (including biodiversity), animal welfare, workers’ wellbeing, production processes, and traceability.
The GLOBAL G.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice is an add-on that evaluates the workers’ wellbeing at farm level. It covers four key social responsibility topics: workers’ voice, human and labour rights information, human and labour rights indicators, and child and young workers’ protection.
